Rotary International
Philanthropy is a very important element of David’s life. His work with Rotary includes health check-ups for the elderly, sponsoring career planning for high school students and corrective surgeries for youth in developing areas, among many more. David’s Desire is to make Rotary younger and more vibrant to meet the challenges of the 21 st Century.
In 2011-2012, David served as the District Governor (DG) for Rotary International District 3450, with jurisdiction over all Rotary Clubs in Hong Kong, Mongolia, and Macao. While it proved to be a challenging year, David loved his time as DG.

His biggest success as DG came with the launch of RID 3450’s signature project, THE ONE, International Humanitarian Award- a quest to find an unsung hero to name “International Humanitarian”. The first year was a great success! THE ONE received nominations from over 10 countries, and the first international humanitarian of this kind was announced! The award went out to Valerie Browning, a woman who has dedicated her life to serving the Afar Nomads in the Horn of Africa. David was able to award Valerie with US$100,000 that he raised from generous supporters including Richard Elman. Although his year as DG has come to a close, David will continue to dedicate himself fully to THE ONE even more zealously as his desire is to serve Rotary and Humanity to the fullest. www.theoneint.org
